Azarias Training Ltd offers Open Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions for young people who do not have access to DofE through their school, or who need to complete an expedition section independently.
Our open expeditions provide the same high standards of planning, supervision and care as our school-based programmes, with a strong focus on safety, confidence-building and positive outdoor experiences.
Who are open expeditions for?
This type of expedition is suitable for young people who...
- Are completing their DofE award independently
- Attend a school that does not offer DofE
- Need to complete a missed or deferred expedition
- Prefer a smaller group or more supportive environment
What participants can expect:
From first contact to expedition completion, we aim to make the process clear and supportive.
- Clear pre-expedition information and joining instructions
- Support with preparation, kit, and route planning
- Experienced supervisors and accredited DofE assessors
- Small group sizes and a calm, inclusive atmosphere
- Appropriate challenge matched to ability and expedition award level

Open Silver Qualifying Expedition:
